TODAY IS MY SADBIRTHDAY SEP. 14th 1962
Dear friends Br/sis at ZONE BBS an humble reminder to each & everyone. in fact I should thank God for the overall support he rendered me to have being admitted at the General hospital Sri Lanka Neurology section for my major operation with rgrd to my brain tumor with 2 operation almost complete & left with a last critical one in suspense...which cud have cost me around a million...
Now the worst part is more than the operation & the tumor I.e. is my financial which is fading gradually & with extreme depression with rgrd to my overall expenditure for outside med. Day to day exp. Etc.
In my case u all don’t have to shoulder the entire burden on a stand alone basis.
My good friends at ZONE BBS instead collective force with rgrd to a charity fund which cud be implemented within your community & circle to help my soul for survival..after all we do not take anything out of this world except our good deeds for the sake of God.
humble request kindly I appreciate your level best for you all to do whatever
assistance to provide me some relief & assistance from our good hearted friends within our circle & friends whom you know at the best at ZONE BBS.

Yeah, really! Up your arse and quickly. Nice spam bot it seems... What makes you think that people who don't even know you would give you money? There are people here, not me, thank The Gods, who really had/have cancer and they don't go trolling and/or spamming the boards asking for cash.
So your operations cost over a million dollars? How much of a dent do you think the kind brothers and sisters of the zone can put into that? Ok, so now you owe $999949.52? will that make you sleep any better?

well, having looked at the op's profile it would seem he's been here for nearly two years, so doesn't appear to be a bot or a spammer, and it's easy enough to multiple post if you're on a slow internet connection and think that an action hasn't been completed so you hit post more than once...
Also, given the op lives in sri lanka the "million" he refers to in terms of cost may not actually be that much when converted to $ or £.
Having said that, posting asking for money is at best extremely misguided and at worst just way out of order.
Well, good to know that it's an actual person here. I can't say that my sympathies really lie toward him, given his actions, but if it really is true that he has cancer, I do hope he recovers and that goes for his whits too.
I agree with SugarBaby. Best of luck with whatever you're going through, but to ask for money is just....not what I would do. I'll leave it at that. If someone offers you money, and you take it, that's different, since it was their doing to give it to you.
I normally don't give or ask for money, though I do take it when offered. Still, if I were to ask for money at all, it would only be from people with whom I'm very close. I certainly wouldn't go on the net and ask strangers and mere acquaintances for cash. I think that's what upset me the most about this.

well, not to defend the op's actions here, but from the typing in the op it is fairly obvious that there is a language barrier here. and let's be honest - anyone who feels either brave or desparate enough to ask for money on an internet forum isn't likely to pay much attention to which board that request goes in.
And really, while I certainly wouldn't personally do it and while I wouldn't be inclined to give, if he wants to ask for money, then he's surely just as free to do so as we are to say no. Freedom of speech and all that.
I wish you the best of luck through your recovery...that's if your really recoverying or going through, you know.

lol Yeah...that's what we all are afraid of these days...a woman shaved her head and held her on money event and came out that she was lying about her having cancer...you have to be careful.
Not only is this request inappropriate, but the fact that it has remained on the zone bbs suggestions board for days now indicates, once again, that zone staff doesn't care enough about our suggestions to even check this board out anymore.

I still think it's a hoax to be honest. Someone's actually foolish enough to believe that we'll just open our wallets to him/her.
actually having seen people at work on websites gaining sympathy and trust from other people in order to fleece them for money etc I would say that this is more likely just a cut and paste job rather than a genuine attempt to get people to give money.
People who are genuinely out to defraud people make their story very plausible, and take the time/effort to build a persona for themselves in order that others warm to them/want to help them.
The op here has been here for nearly two years, does not appear to have a posting or quicknoting history, has not made the effort to become known, therefore does not fit into that kind of category...
I have no reason to believe this person is fake, and I'm not going to assume he is, but if I was going to give money to any random person who asked for it, I would never have any money for myself, or for my family, and I know I'm going to sound selfish here, but paying bills and buying food is a little more important than helping someone I've never met. Now, if I had a little extra money left over, which I do sometimes, I don't mind donating to a cause I believe to be credible. For example, I plan to donate to NVDA when I get the chance, and I don't mind even donating to cancer research if I have the cash, but to one particular person, most likely not.

could it be that someon else logged in to his acount?. i looked at his other 2 posts, and they are taking part in other posts suggesting things for the site. you don't just come out 1 day and advertise 3 times for people to donate money... you just don't. i thought about maybe he was here for ages, but a certain event might have caused him to post the messages, but i'm really not sure.

I really can't understand why people are getting quite so wound up about this.
So the op posted it in suggestions - so what? Really, why do you care?
The reality is that as soon as anyone opens the topic they will see what it's about and will mostly ignore and quite frankly, if anyone was stupid enough to take it seriously and give out their cash then they deserve to be taken in.
And every time someone posts how shocked/apawled they are and how the topic should be moved yada yada they are bumping the post back to the top of the active discussions on the boards (and yes, I do see the irony of me just having done exactly that).
But really, just leave it alone and ultimately it will disappear out of sight.
Is that concept really so difficult to grasp?
